How you can help
At Avivo, we work with thousands of Minnesotans already struggling with enormous barriers to being and living well. Poverty, addiction, and mental health challenges are just the beginning of a daily list for many.
We are working hard to provide vital services to our clients while protecting them and our employees. The path to recovery from chemical dependency or to better mental health cannot wait for this pandemic to pass.
Unfortunately, the number of barriers to our work has grown dramatically as COVID-19 disrupts life across Minnesota and the country:
- Children of our clients in both family residential treatment and intensive outpatient treatment need unscheduled daycare services and meal services as a result of closed schools.
- Increased cleaning and sterilization services to all 24 of our locations across the metro area and St. Cloud.
- Employees are being given technology to allow them to work from home whenever possible.
- Group therapy sessions are being limited or cancelled in exchange for individual sessions.
Those steps, while necessary, are either impacting our weekly costs or decreasing our ability to bill for services at budgeted weekly rates.
We need your help: Please consider adding to your support for Avivo during this critical time. Our goal is to provide an additional $15,000/week over the next six weeks to allow our programs to function, while still protecting our most vulnerable clients.
If you’re unable to make a monetary donation, learn about other in-kind needs that can directly benefit the individuals and families in our programs here. You can also contact Bruce Wenger by email or at 612.752.8031.
