Displaced Homemaker Program

Supporting yourself and your family can be difficult when you’ve been out of the workforce for a long time, which requires unique support.

Avivo’s Displaced Homemaker Program, funded by the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development (DEED), helps women or men who have been the primary caretaker at home and have lost their primary income. We help participants find worthwhile employment, and link them to training opportunities and livable wage jobs.

Individuals may be eligible if they:

  • Are recently divorced
  • Have been a full-time caregiver or homemaker
  • Are a military veteran

Services include:

  • Personalized assessments
  • Individuals counseling
  • Education and training
  • Job search and placement support
  • Networking and support
  • Other short-term assistance

Avivo pairs our career education and employment services to provide holistic support, at no cost to you, to ensure you are on the path to stability and employment.
