Erik Aamoth joins Avivo as VP of Career Education & Employment Services

We are pleased to welcome Erik Aamoth as Avivo’s Vice President of Career Education and Employment Services. Erik will lead Avivo’s employment services area and the Avivo Institute of Career & Technical Education.

Erik brings 15 years of leadership experience in the workforce development industry, formerly working in management roles at the MN Department of Employment & Economic Development. He led a broad range of WIA programs, and state and federal employment programs serving dislocated workers, youth, families on welfare, and un- and under-employed Minnesotans. His past experience also includes managing the merger of economic and workforce development departments, and he has been actively engaged in legislative and public policy that positively impacts worker training programs and jobs creation.

“Providing career pathways is what Avivo does well,” says Erik. “We are positioned to do that with nearly every participant and Avivo’s focus on overall wellness is also impressive. I’m just excited to be here.”

“We are very fortunate to have Erik join Avivo,” shares Kelly Matter, Avivo President and CEO. “His experience in the workforce development sector touches nearly every Avivo employment program and initiative, and I have confidence in his proven leadership experience as we work to better integrate access to all Avivo has to offer for individuals we serve.”

“The workforce development arena is changing so dramatically, particularly with changes in federal law,” shares Erik. “There’s a higher need for more inclusivity in the workplace and the need to connect the communities we serve to employers. Nonprofit organizations are the future. We have the ability, and much more flexibility, to meet workforce needs.”

“Providing career pathways is what Avivo does well,” adds Erik. “We are positioned to do that with nearly every participant and Avivo’s focus on overall wellness is also impressive. I’m just excited to be here.”
