Meet Mette McLoughlin — Avivo’s new Vice President of Human Resources

We’re excited to announce that Mette McLoughlin has been hired as Vice President of Human Resources. Mette brings more than 25 years experience in the field to lead Avivo’s human resources operations, supporting a workforce of more than 350 employees.

“Mette has just the right mix of leadership qualities and human resources expertise Avivo needs to lead and bolster our workforce as we continue to serve our community,” shares Kelly Matter, Avivo President & CEO. “She also has a deep passion for inclusion, equity, and cultural responsiveness, which are absolutely necessary to further develop our organization’s commitment to undoing racism and cultural diversity.”

Joining Avivo in March of 2020, Mette brings more than 25 years’ expertise in strategy, organizational development, coaching, culture building, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance evaluation and administration. She has successfully implemented comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategies that have positively impacted organizational culture and employee engagement.

Formerly, McLouglin consulted for small nonprofits and also worked at American Public Media Group, Hazelden Foundation, and Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota. She is certified in the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). She holds a business degree from Naestved Handelsskols, Denmark, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota. Mette serves on the board of Nexus and is a Twin Cities Diversity & Inclusion Roundtable member.
