Avivo Statement on Encampment Clearing

Avivo is a steadfast ally of its Indigenous neighbors in Minneapolis and stands with its partner providers serving people living in Camp Nenookaasi. Encampment evictions are an inhumane and ineffective solution to unsheltered homelessness. The planned eviction on January 4 places residents at higher risk. We support the delay of closure while finding ways to meet safety and sanitation needs so residents have more time to work through the shelter and housing process.
