Record 339 families receive holiday gifts through Adopt-A-Family program

This year’s Adopt-A-Family was our biggest ever, with donors providing holiday gifts to 339 families in Avivo’s programs, including 805 children.

“Everything [the donors] picked out for us was perfect,” shared one mother who received gifts. “I usually don’t get Christmas gifts since I am a single parent.”

1,191 gifts filled several entire conference rooms and offices full of gifts; mountains of generosity created by this year’s 171 donors – 109 individuals and families, and 62 corporate and business groups.

“This year was huge. Our donors are amazing,” says Rebecca Bedner, Avivo’s director of annual giving and volunteer services. “I’m grateful to be part of this program, helping brighten the season for those who give and receive gifts.”

Many families in Avivo’s programs are unable to afford even the basic necessities, which makes purchasing gifts for their children difficult, or even impossible.
