Adopt-A-Family program sets new record for families served

This year’s Adopt-A-Family set an all-time record, with 171 donors providing holiday gifts to 388 families (including 892 children) in Avivo’s programs!

“It was so incredibly kind of you to add my family to your thoughts and holiday gift list,” shared one family who received gifts this year.

“Thank you for your kind actions. It really means a lot to me and my children, and we will never forget how you made this holiday a lot better,” shared another family.

Nearly 1,500 gifts filled entire conference rooms and offices at Avivo. These towers of gifts showcase the incredible generosity of this year’s donors – 93 individuals and families, and 88 corporate and business groups.

“This year really shows the amazing generosity on the part of donors. It’s really special,” says Rebecca Bedner-Faris, Avivo’s director of special events, annual giving and volunteer services.

“My co-workers and I have been doing this for a few years, and will continue to in the future,” says one donor. “I love being able to give a family a happy holiday.”

Many families in Avivo’s programs are unable to afford even the basic necessities. This makes purchasing gifts for their children difficult or even impossible.
