Signs of Hope at Avivo

After the murder of George Floyd, many participants of Avivo’s programs, as well as staff, needed to process together their mourning for George and for our community.

Brittany, one of Avivo’s peer support specialists, worked quickly to create an outlet for women in our treatment programs. She gathered tag board and as many colored markers as she could find, and set up women and families in our programs to create artwork about hope. The final posters were displayed to passersby on Chicago Avenue near our 1900 Chicago Avenue location.

A selection of outward-facing artwork and signs, created by women and families in Avivo’s recovery programs.
